Rotted Sill, Caught in Time
Decay cut out completely and rebuilt in real wood — no filler, no new window.
Broken pane this morning, fogged glass, a sash that quit on you — it's one failed part, not a window-replacement project. We repair it from $115, most jobs in a single visit.

Most urgent window calls in Raleigh are broken glass, and the pane gets replaced, not the window. But glass is one of several things that can go wrong. Tap what yours is doing:
What is your window doing?
Diagnosis
The sealed glass unit
The seal around the edge of the glass opened. Moisture got in and filled the drying beads inside the unit like a bathtub. When the tub overflowed, the fog showed up on the inside of the glass, where no cloth can reach.
We swap just the glass unit in your frame, from $198.

The pivot shoe, a small plastic part
Hidden springs in the sides of the frame hold the sash up through a plastic pivot shoe. Over the years the plastic dries out and its hook breaks off, so nothing holds the sash anymore. Sometimes a sash that was forced snaps its metal pivot pin instead.
New balances and shoes, $175 a window.

The bottom of the sash and the sill
Paint is the only armor wood has. Once it cracks, rain soaks into the flat parts at the bottom and never dries, and a fungus turns the wood soft from the inside. The top of the window stays solid.
We cut out the rot and splice in new wood: a sash from $375, a sill from $475.
How rot starts and how we fix it →Diagnosis
The crank operator, a small gearbox
On a casement window, a little gearbox under the sash turns the handle into motion. Its teeth strip with age, or all at once when a stuck window gets cranked hard. The handle spins free and the window stays put.
A new operator bolts in, $275.

The weatherstripping
The soft strip around the sash flattens with age and stops touching it, so air walks right through the gap. A worn latch that no longer pulls the sash tight makes it worse.
New weatherstripping, $115 a window (3 windows minimum).

Just the glass
A stray ball, a stone from the mower, a hard knock. The glass broke; the frame and the sash didn't.
New glass in your frame: a single pane from $164, a double-pane unit from $198.
Glass repair, every type →Diagnosis
The screen: its mesh, or its frame
Sun slowly breaks down the coating on the mesh until the strands snap instead of flexing, and it tears. Press it gently with your thumb: springy mesh only needs a wash, stiff papery mesh is done. Then look at the frame.

The sash lock
The lock on the middle rail pulls the two sashes together. When it wears out, or the sash settles a little low, the two halves no longer meet and the window won't lock.
A new lock, $115.

Not sure what it is?
A stray baseball, a summer storm, a break-in attempt — suddenly there's glass on the floor and a hole in your house. What you need to know first: the pane is replaceable on its own. The frame almost always survives, and most replacement glass is built the same day we measure it.
Not every window problem announces itself with broken glass. Fog creeping between panes, a sash that slides down on its own, a draft that shows up every winter — Raleigh homes are full of windows that don't need replacing. They need one component brought back to life.
Whether it's an emergency pane or a window that's been annoying you for a year — same four steps, priced in writing.
For broken glass or anything else, the symptom in your own words is all we need to bring the right parts.
Broken openings get protected first. Then we measure the exact glass unit or identify the failed hardware and quote it in writing.
Glass units are fabricated to your window's precise dimensions and set into your existing sash — the frame never leaves the wall.
Open, close, lock, seal — we verify everything with you and hand over a written workmanship warranty.

No stock footage, no actors — an actual WowFix job: a rotted, fogged-out window brought back to flawless, like-new condition.
Snap a clear photo of every foggy, cracked or stuck window in natural light. Morning light shows fog between the panes best and lets us quote faster — often before we arrive.
Jot down the symptom per window — fog between the glass, won't open or stay up, draft, cracked pane, or rotted frame. It tells us whether it's a glass-only swap (from $198) or hardware/wood work.
Move furniture, blinds and décor back roughly three feet so our crew can measure and work safely. It keeps the visit quick and your things out of the way.
If you have the original window brand, a sticker in the frame, or install paperwork, set it aside. It's not required, but it helps us match glass and parts on the first trip.
Unlock gates, secure pets, and clear the exterior path to the windows. Most glass-unit work is done from both sides, so outside access keeps everything one visit.
Decay cut out completely and rebuilt in real wood — no filler, no new window.
We fabricate an exact-profile piece from laminated lumber and splice it in.
New glass built to the window's exact size — frame and trim untouched.
The pane is the part that failed — so the pane is the part we replace.
A failed seal, not a failed window: the sealed unit is swapped, the frame stays.
Rotted bottom rebuilt on-site — a fraction of the ~$10,000 a new door runs.
