The Problem

The homeowner’s double-hung windows had turned hazy and milky — a classic failed seal. When the airtight bond between the two panes of an insulated glass unit (IGU) breaks down, moisture creeps into the gap and the view clouds over. Beyond looking dirty, a broken seal kills the window’s energy efficiency: the insulating gas escapes and heating and cooling bills climb.

What We Did

Instead of tearing out and replacing the whole window, we measured the failed units and replaced only the insulated glass — keeping the existing sashes, frames, and colonial grids. The work was done on-site the same day, with no frame removal and no drywall damage. The result speaks for itself: the milky haze is gone and the neighborhood view is sharp again, with the seal and insulating gas restored.
