The Problem
The sill under this double-hung window had gone soft and crumbly — years of rain had worked past the paint and rotted the wood through. Handymen often smear filler over rot like this and repaint; a year later it is rotten straight through and the repair has to be done twice.
What We Did
We cut the decayed wood out completely, back to sound material, and fabricated a matching replacement profile from laminated lumber — built to copy the original, so the window looks like nothing ever happened. Sanded, primed, painted and sealed watertight. The window itself never left the wall, and the homeowner paid a fraction of what a new wood window costs.
